About Bri

I’m from the Seattle area, where hipsters run rampant and the music scene  is amazing. What also graces this great city is an abundance of amazing and inspirational food. You will never know good food until you’ve had truly bad food. Food that upsets and assaults  your insides to its core, and makes you rise up from the depths of your bowels and proclaim in a loud voice, “No more!”

I started to really enjoy cooking during my time in the army. Nothing will make you crave food from scratch, like eating something that resembles chicken out of a plastic bag, that you are able to eat after several years and various temperature changes, for several weeks at a time. I came home from that, and started cooking and baking. Eventually it became for more than just never wanting to taste preservatives in that high of a quantity ever again. I’m out of the army, and have a lovely job working as a surgical technologist.  Now every Sunday, or spare day off, I try to make something that is not only challenging, but also magically delicious, with my trusty taste tester Olaf. And then I plop down in front of my tablet or laptop, and type out my zaney cooking adventures. Enjoy!

Nice blog! We seem to have similar food interests, although as you know I tend to stick to writing about cheesemaking and smoking. Seattle is one of my favourite cities as well. Thanks for the follow.
